Hey folks.
It feels really good to be back on the road to cover meaningful hockey games. The pre-season really took its toll on everybody, from the players, fans, and even us media folk who just wanted it to end.
That moment finally arrived last week when the Toronto Maple Leafs opened up their season against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Wednesday.
I decided to treat myself by taking the Via Rail Business Class. If you book this far enough in advance, you can generally find a reasonable price in the low $100s and itβs totally worth the upgrade from coach, It comes with beverage and meal service.
I chose the brisket with mac and cheese with Brussels sprouts, A pear salad and chocolate cake for dessert. Plus the wine and spirits were there when needed.
The day before the trip I had yet to find a reasonable rate for my hotel. The rates for downtown Montreal have kept going up and up and I just refused to bite the bullet and pay $300 per night. So thatβs where World of Hyatt comes in.
